This past week the weather was just perfect for Albert Handell’s workshop. He had a large group from all over the country. The first day the students learned about color and edges. The next day Albert did a wonderful demo at Catalina State Park. He showed how he simplifies the landscape. Then Wednesday he did a watercolor under wash tree painting. His trees are so simple yet so great that if you like painting trees Albert is a must. Thursday he painted an oil to show the student how he handles the thin transparent washes. This was great to see since we had about four oil painters in the group. Then later that night he showed a slide demonstration where we got to see a nice body of work from years past to some current work.
Friday for the last day they got to watch him paint two pastels. It was an amazing week for every body since this was the first time he has taught in Tucson. We will have Albert back next year so please check the website for our 2009/2010 schedule.
